28 Drawings Later: February Drawing Challenge

Link to Facebook page and full info

A fun way to focus on drawing. Do a drawing every day the first 28 days in February and post the results here. Open to everyone! Use the extra day this year to mail your work for inclusion in a physical exhibition. Details in 'info' section of the facebook page.

28 Drawings later is a drawing challenge and social networking project created by Visual Artist Victoria Evans. The result is an evolving, month-long, participatory online gallery which encourages everyone, artists and non-artists alike, to see what might happen if they made time to draw every day for a month

David Shrigley

Ahead of a retrospective show at the Hayward Gallery in London, David Shrigley answers readers questions on the Guardian website...

David Shrigley's Site

Q + A with David Shrigley

Here's a taster...
Question:
I imagine that you have an advice for art students stock answer (you must get asked a lot) although I don't think I have ever read it, care to reiterate?

David answers:
My advice is:
Your degree mark is unimportant.
Try not to spend too much money on your art (unless you're rich)
Put the hours in and the art will get made.
Enjoy yourself.
You don't have to be an artist when you leave art school if you don't want to, but if you do want to then it is entirely possible: All you have to do is keep making art.

Careful now 4 versions

Thank you for your feedback on this.
I am really learning a lot through Tinderbox.
Please, see the versions you suggested, all in one page.

PS Claire, I tried a darker shading but it was too imposing.
Also, about publishing it in the press, my idea was to send out postcards addressed to the editors of different papers, but if you can recommend another approach, I am all ears!

PS Yellowhammer, those cartoon cave men are by the fantastic Juan Giner, and very difficult to translate, but I will try.

Careful now

Hey there,

A drawing inspired by this month's rollercoaster: bailout, snow, ice, budget, meltdown. And the few times I fell on my bum.

I want to fine tune this drawing so advice and comments are welcome on any of its parts (drawing, text, colour, design)
Thank you!
elida.
