Shameless Self Promotion

Hi Guys,

Thought it was good idea to get my arse in gear and set up site for some of my work.
http://www.society6.com/studio/michaelcawleylikestodraw/store

Thanks to Emma for the heads up, Society 6 is great site, really easy to use.

Was thinking maybe we could also set up Tinderbox page, everyone does piece especially for it, and any profits could go towards future exhibitions etc.

Cheers,

Michael

"The idea of No Place Like Dome is a simple one, that everyone is self sufficient and gets involved to create for a short time, an arena where people can let themselves go and give love and respect to their fellow man, asking nothing in return than kindness and a bit of banter (all in fancy dress of course). good old-fashioned ink and paper.... sigh!

Hello y'all... just thought I'd share this one. I've been working solely digitally quite a lot lately, so I really enjoyed going back to good old fashioned ink and paper for this one - although photoshop was used to combine the various bits and touch up colours! Anyway, really enjoyed the process ...

Diego Rivera and Frida Kahlo at the Irish Museum of Modern Art

This show is on at the moment, went by today some really beautiful Kahlo pieces, some Rivera, they don't do him justice but interesting none the less. It was quite exciting for me as I wrote my Degree and Masters paper on Mexican Muralists and the American Art scene in the 1930's, which both of these artist left an indelible mark on. The 1930's are a period in the America's history that I find fascinating and if I could exist somewhere else but now it would be then or the wild west of course. It's on till june and costs 5 euro. go see.

Day at the Botanic Gardens

Had a great time at the Botanic Gardens last Saturday and I'm very happy with some of the shots I got. Here's three of them. I got together with three other photographers from flickr there. I saw quite a few artists drawing and sketching there too and it made me think of you all!

Posterous

Hello, anybody have tendonitis updating blogs, websites, social networks ? Then this could be a one stop solution.

Posterous is a site where you can create a page like a blog by sending emails to your account. If the emails contain pics, vids etc. it will automatically create a gallery, video player and links. The best thing about this (I still have to try) it seems, is that from this site it will automatically update your blog, facebook etc. without the need to update each individually. It sounds good to me as I have a very slooow connection here. Let me know if anyone of you tries it out.
